“The student usually goes back to wherever he or she studies and does their best to memorize that which they have been given. This enables them to keep that which they have been blessed with from the Scholar with which they have studied. Unfortunately, what some of us have witnessed over the years, is people skipping over the last step & jumping directly from simply getting the directions to memorization, then leading communities. This harms us all, due to the fact that they add their own explanations to that which they were given and have memorized. Yes, they are teaching that which they have received at the feet of the Scholars, but not with the Scholar’s explanation, rather one of their own. Do you see how this can be very dangerous?”
