قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ, “مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ
“.طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whom ever goes out in the path seeking knowledge, Allah makes easy for him a way to paradise.”
All of our beloved brothers and sisters in Islam. We would like to welcome you to our site, where in we will be able to gain some benefit together. We are brought together here to both share what what we know about Islam as well as increase in knowledge and reward. This is very important.
The hadeeth that was mentioned in the beginning of this, was referenced for a reason. We wanted first and foremost to remind ourselves, then you all about the importance of seeking knowledge in Islam. We have all heard many times from our parents, friends, and even the Imam in the Masjid, about the importance of gaining Islamic knowledge. We hear on a regular basis about when the best times to do it are, which are the best books to read and even who to take our knowledge from. But rarely we find people tell us about why we seek knowledge and its true benefit. Here in this hadeeth we see that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) summed it up for us beautifully.
We have all heard this hadeeth one million and one times. How many of us though, have reflected on the reality of it? We know that if one goes out seeking knowledge that Allah makes easy for him a path to paradise by way of it. But have we ever thought about why? Well that is what we wanted to bring to light today.
The scholars tell us that this is because it is known that learning that which Allah has legislated for us is the only way that we can truly and correctly put it into practice. We cant possible hope to actually be upon that which Allah has sent down as a guidance to mankind unless we first study and learn about it. Also it is known that the only way that we will get to Allah is by following his legislation. As Muslims this is something that we must believe in firmly. We have to understand that the ONLY way that we can hope to get to Allah is by following that which He sent down. Therefore, it has to be understood, that if one studies and puts into practice Allah’s legislation, then this is how Allah has made it an easy path for him/her to His everlasting reward (paradise).
May Allah increase us all in beneficial knowledge, the desire to obtain it and the will power to practice and be firm upon it. Allahuma ameen.
