In this particular post, I just want to address one very important issue. This is the fact that all bid’ah is not the same. The Scholars of Islam actually divide innovation into different categories. Depending on what the point of the Scholar is, you will find that they will use different terminologies and categories to describe the various types of innovations.
That which we want to focus on today is to discuss that, to which the innovation itself is attached. You have some types of innovation that are attached to issues of the belief system (aquidah) of the believer. There are other types of innovation that are directly connected to the different actions and types of physical worship that the believer performs.
Now that we have pointed this out, in the next few posts we will be discussing each type individually, in sha Allah. This will enable us to get an understanding of what these things consist of, and how to protect ourselves and our loved ones from them. May Allah keep all of our feet planted firmly upon pure guidance. Allahuma ameen.
