“Assumptions are another thing that people many times mistake for an understanding. Many people will look at something and just assume it has to be one way or another. Then they have a tendency to try and rationalize why their assumption is correct. They base all of what they think to be true off of pure conjecture & not off pure facts. Then we tend to say that we understand something. You may say that this is not true, but look around & you’ll see that it happens all of the time. We need to recognize this as a problem so that it can be fixed.”
