The last of the issues that I will be discussing with all of you about these branches of at Tawheed, is that of singling out Allah in His worship. This, as we understand from the speech of the Scholars, was the major topic of discussion between each of the Prophets and Messengers and their people. I wanted to point that out to you so that you see the importance of this particular branch.
The situation of it being an obligation upon us to single out Allah in worship should never be an area of disagreement among the Muslims. Therefore I don’t want to waste a lot of time proving this point. Rather there is an issue that is more important and pressing which needs to be discussed. This is that of what is meant when talk about worship.
I want to focus on this in the upcoming posts. This is because it is hard for us to know for sure if we are carrying out this obligation, if it’s not crystal clear as to what is meant by the term ebaadah (worship) to begin with. So what we’ll do here is discuss a few different definitions and attempt to shed some light on the issue. So make sure to pay close attention.
