An example of what we were discussing in the last post would be that of Allah informing us of his possessing a hand. There are too many proofs and evidences that confirm this fact to be ignored or even denied. I believe that it is a safe assumption to say that I doubt that there are any of you reading this that feels comfortable saying that Allah is wrong about something in which He has revealed. You must make sure that you do not let yourselves fall into that which has deceived some individuals, in that they find reasons to deny that which Allah has confirmed for Himself over and over. May Allah protect us all from this, Allahuma Ameen.
Now, I am sure that some of you may be saying to yourselves “Who would do something like that? Believe me, it happens more often than you would think. Let me tell you why.
Generally, it is because of this situation “at Tak’yeef” (asking how). Instead of just accepting that which Allah revealed and taught us about Himself, they begin picturing in their heads how this hand is and how it looks. This is not something that is proper for them to do, rather they are supposed to just keep in mind that we can not possibly understand the reality of Allah. Our understanding is limited to things that we know about and have seen. This is a huge problem. Do you know why?
It is because we are told in the Quran that there is nothing like Allah and it is obligatory on us to believe this. So, when we see that Allah confirms this for Himself we must believe it even when we don’t understand how to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
