Now that we have finished talking about the first issue that sets this beautifully, blessed month apart from the other Islamic Months, we want to talk about the other issue we mentioned in “Part 3”.
This is the issue of the fact that Allah has chosen in it to be the month in which the yearly fast will partake. In it one of the pillars of this wonderful religion is fulfilled. You do not find this in any of the other months of the Islamic Calendar.
In His book, Allah has commanded you to do something that will bring nothing but good to you if you are obedient. We will discuss the good in the next few post, in sha Allah, but the goal here is to explain the fact that in this month that you have been commanded to fast, all of the good of it comes back to you. In the verse we mentioned earlier on in this series, Allah commands;
{So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month…}
[Al Baqarah (2): 185]
So we see here that this obligation that was put on all of us, was from the Most Merciful and Most Wise. He knows what is good for us and all of the good that is in store for us if we only knew.
