Ramadan (Part 8)

The issue of Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree) is also a very important topic that needs to be discussed. Don’t you think? Many of us look at the end of Ramadan as a time when we start falling off our new found way of life. We slack off in ways that we were not doing during the beginning and middle of the month. Well this is really counterproductive if we just sit and think about it, for so many different reasons. Actually the reasons are far too many to be mentioned here, thus I will focus on one only in this post.

This is the situation of making sure that we do not miss out on the opportunity of immersing ourselves in worship on this mighty night. None of us can afford not to obtain all of the reward that is given to the one that takes advantage of worshiping on this night. Allah tells us in the Quran that the worship done on this night is better than that which is done during 1000 months. Subhaana Allah.

If our goals really are to make our scales heavy on the day of Judgement, then we need to busy ourselves with as many opportunities like this one as possible. Why would we purposely miss out on something like this, even if it comes at the end of the month and we feel like we are running out of steam? We need to look at what we can gain from pushing on a bit longer, that we may not ever come across an opportunity again like this for a whole year. Being as though making it until next year is not promised to any of us, we need to take advantage of the opportunity while it is still staring us in the face and we still have a chance. Don’t you agree?
