Now is the time that everyone is preparing themselves and their families for the ‘Eid. The thing that we want to remember is that this celebration is something that is from the Sunnah of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, there are correct ways that we do things and incorrect ways. There are many people that just go and do whatever they see everyone else doing, and there are those that go to the celebration and prayer knowing what they should be doing in during this beautiful act of worship. We need to ask ourselves which of these groups that we desire to be with on that day.
Therefore, I recommend that we all take a minute or two, especially the parents and those in charge of our Muslim families, to learn what is correct and teach it to those whom we have some level or responsibility over. This is why we have prepared for you a small summary of what you need to know and put in in the link below. Take a minute to read over it, prepare yourselves. Then sit your families down and teach them what they need to know. As I just mentioned, it is a very short summary, so there is no reason for you not to take a second and take full advantage of it. If you don’t desire to do it for yourselves, then at least take a minute out to do it for your loved ones.
