Can you think of anyone that had a better character than the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessing be upon him)? Can you possibly believe that even he used to call out to Allah to better his character? Well guess what, he did. This shows you the great importance that good mannerisms carry to the believer, and at the head of them is the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him).
To show how important it was to him, we want to take a look at the du’aa that was authentically reported on the tongue of the Messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him).when he used to supplicate, “O Allah, just as you have beautified my person, beautify my character.” If it was this important to him, the best of creation, then should it not be even more important to us?
