By bettering our mannerisms and character not only do we gain Allah’s pleasure and love, but also we will be from those that are close to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessing be upon him) as well as a closeness to him on the day of judgement. This is also something that we as Muslims should be running after vigorously. I want to point to the statement of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) when he was said, “Those of you that are most beloved to me and closest to me in terms of position on the day of judgement, is those that are best in their character” [reported by at Tirmadhi and graded authentic by al Albaani].
