We also need to understand that good mannerisms is something that Allah loves and has commanded us with obtaining. It is from those things that cause Allah to love His worshiper. Look at the hadeeth of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) when he was asked, “Which of the slaves of Allah are most beloved to Him?” So, he replied, “The ones that are the best in terms of their character” [authenticated by Sheikh al Albaani]. We need to understand that we have to do our best to gain Allah’s love and pleasure. Therefore, we have to work hard to better ourselves. If we’re not going to do it for the benefits in this life, then we have to at least make changes in ourselves for the benefits of the hereafter.
