Another issue that we want to try to focus on in this series, is the days of the week. One may ask why this is important, as we have these same days in our countries. The reality though is that these are the days of the week that we find that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) have mentioned in his authentic Sunnah. If we, as Muslims are going to limit ourselves to any one say of days, shouldn’t it be these. Do not get me wrong though, I am not telling you that you have to switch, as these days are probably only going to be known by the Muslims, and even in many Arab countries, that the calendars work on our same schedule as our calendars in our countries. I am only suggesting that as Muslims, even if we are not going to use these days in our lives, that we should at least know about them and know their names. Don’t you agree? So let’s get started:
Days of the week:
Sunday – Yawm al A-had
Monday – Yawm al Ith-nain
Tuesday – Yawm ath Thu-lu-tha
Wednesday – Yawm al Ar-bi-’a
Thursday – Yawm al Kha-mis
Friday- Yawm al Ju-mu-’a
Saturday – Yawm al Sep-t
We do not yet have a video posted with these names being pronounced, but we will try to post one for all of you soon. Just make sure to subscribe to our YouTube Channel so as not to miss the video once it is uploaded. Barak Allahu Feekum.
